There is nothing like going to Israel and Jordan where God revealed Himself in time and space. The early church father, Jerome, once described Israel as “The Fifth Gospel.” Once you’ve been there, you’ll know why. You will never read the Bible the same again.
MARCH 14, 2023 TUESDAY TRANSATLANTIC
We depart San Francisco International for Tel Aviv, Israel. We must be at the airport at least three hours before the flight. Enjoy our on-board transatlantic experience.
ENROUTE TRANSATLANTIC
MARCH 15, 2023 WEDNESDAY ISTANBUL / TEL AVIV / NETANYA
Connecting through Istanbul airport, we arrive in Tel Aviv and are met and assisted by our guide. Our motorcoach is waiting, and we are transferred to our hotel in the coastal town of Netanya for a good night’s rest.

MARCH 16, THURSDAY CAESAREA MARITIME / MT. CARMEL / MEGIDDO
MOUNT PRECIPICE / NAZARETH VILLAGE
We begin with a full group Israeli breakfast. We then travel north along the Mediterranean coast for these highlights:
* Caesarea Maritime for welcome remarks and a combined group teaching session in the amphitheater.
* Mukraka is the location of Elijah's altar where he slew the prophets of Baal. A magnificent panoramic view from Mount Carmel; then a short stop at a Druze village.
* The excavation of Tel Megiddo overlooking the Valley of Armageddon. The ruins of Megiddo are 30 civilizations deep going all the way back to the Canaanites.
* Mount Precipice where the people intended to kill Jesus, but He simply walked through them and away.
* Jesus’ boyhood home of Nazareth including a visit to the recreated Nazareth Village and Mary's well.

MARCH 17, FRIDAY BOAT RIDE / CAPERNAUM / MAGDALA / TABGHA /

Today's highlights are:
* A sail on the Sea of Galilee and a time of worship.
* Capernaum, the city of Jesus so central to His ministry. The ruins of Peter’s house are still seen and the ruins of the ancient synagogue where Jesus spoke that is referred to often in Scripture.
* Continuing along the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, we visit the ruins of Magdala. It is the home town of Mary Magdalene. We visit the Duc in Altum Chapel.
* Tabgha where Jesus fed 5000 with the fish and loaves of a small boy.
* Primacy of Peter, site of Jesus' post-resurrection appearance to disciples on the shore of Galilee. John 21 "feed my sheep" declaration to Peter.
* The Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount. We have a combined group teaching session here.
* A visit to the ancient boat from Jesus’ time which was recently recovered from the lake.

MARCH 18, SATURDAY TEL DAN / BANIAS SPRINGS / CAESAREA PHILIPPI

Todays agenda includes:
* Ancient Tel Dan, where the Dan Tribe emigrated and created the golden calf. Here are the unearthed city gates, a paved road, and remains of fortifications.
* See Banias Springs, the source of the Jordan River.
* Caesarea Philippi where Peter confessed Christ as Messiah.
* Returning to the Sea of Galilee via the Golan Heights we view Biblical Bethsaida, home of Peter, Andrew and Philip; then, unrepentant Chorazin. Afterward we continue to Har Bental to view the whole of Galilee.
* Visit Yardenit on the Jordan River where you can be baptized.

MARCH 19, SUNDAY BETH SHE'AN / JORDAN VALLEY
BEDOUIN LUNCH / WADI QELT / BETHLEHEM / JERUSALEM
* The Decapolis city of Beth She’an. The ancient city on the nearby Tel is where Saul and his sons were hung after their defeat at Gilboa. Beth She'an is one of the best preserved of all the Decapolis cities. We have a combined group teaching session here.
* We drive south through the Jordan River valley
* Ascend the Judean Hills near Jericho for a delicious Bedouin lunch in “Abraham’s tent.”
* View Wadi Qelt, perhaps David had this in mind for the 23rd Psalm
* Bethlehem where we see the shepherd’s fields and visit the site of Jesus’ birth.
* Time for shopping.

DINNER AND OVERNIGHT: DAN JERUSALEM HOTEL, JERUSALEM
MARCH 20, MONDAY MASADA / EIN GEDI / QUMRAN / DEAD SEA
* Through the Judean Wilderness to the Dead Sea -the deepest point on earth (1200 feet below sea level)
* We ascend Masada by cable car to visit the fortress where from 70-73 AD Jewish Zealots made a last desperate stand against the Roman Empire.
* The Nature Reserve Ein Gedi, where King David found shelter from the rage of King Saul.
* The ruins of an ancient Essene community of Qumran where the Dead Sea scrolls were found.
* On our way back to Jerusalem we can enjoy a short float on the Dead Sea if time and weather allow.

MARCH 21, TUESDAY HEZEKIAH TUNNEL / DAVID'S CITY / POOL OF SILOAM / ISRAEL MUSEUM
SHRINE OF THE BOOK / YAD VASHEM / SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW
* Hezekiah's Tunnel runs from the Gihon Springs to the pool of Siloam and acted as an aqueduct to provide Jerusalem with water during a siege.
* The City of David. We see the excavated fortresses and passageways from David's conquest of the Jebusite's city as described in the 2nd book of Samuel. The City of David is where Jerusalem started.
* Israel Museum's Shrine of the Book (Dead Sea Scrolls) including the archeological wing.
* The amazing model of ancient Jerusalem.
* Yad Vashem, the holocaust memorial.

MARCH 22, WEDNESDAY MOUNT OF OLIVES / GETHSEMANE / VIA DOLOROSA
CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCRE / GARDEN TOMB
* Visit the Garden of Gethsemane, and Church of All Nations.
* See the the Golden Gate, the Pinnacle, the Kidron Valley and the Tomb of Absalom, Zachariah and James.
* If circumstances allow we will visit the upper platform of the Temple Mount.
* We visit the Western Wall, the holiest of all Jewish sites. This is a very appropriate place for personal prayer.
* We then follow the amazing Kotel Tunnel along the Western Wall to the Pool of Bethesda and St. Stephen's Gate. We can also join in singing at the Church of St. Anne. The accoustics are marvelous.
* Visit the Chapel of the Flagellation and the Ecce Homo Arch. *
* Walk the Via Dolorosa and see the Catholic stations of the cross.
* Continue on Via Dolorosa through the Bazaar to the last stations and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
* Visit The Garden Tomb of Jesus for an orientation beside Calvary and time for worship and communion.
* After dinner, spectacular Sound and Light Show at Tower of David

* Visit the Kotel Tunnel (groups of 35 will be staggered according to reservations). Other sites will be visited
* Southern Steps. Here where Jesus certainly entered the temple we will have few moments of teaching.
* We visit Mount Zion and the traditional Room of the Last Supper, Caiaphas house where Caiaphas judged Jesus and Gallicantu, where Peter denied Christ three times before the cock crowed and where Christ was held prisoner..
* A free afternoon for leisure, shopping or revisiting sites
Buses will go from set locations to the hotel every 30 minutes to return to the hotel.

This morning we leave Jerusalem for Ben Gurion airport for our journey home.

This morning we leave Jerusalem and continue to the
* Allenby Bridge near Jericho to cross the Jordan River into the kingdom of Jordan.
After clearing customs, we stop nearby to visit the Jordanian site which is believed to be the most likely place where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. It is also here on the plains of Moab where Elijah ascended into heaven in a chariot whirlwind of fire.
* Madaba where we view the most ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land which dates from 600AD.
* We visit a nearby mosaic factory and showroom
* We continue to Petra.

We arrive at the entrance to the Siq which leads us to
* Petra, one of the ancient wonders of the world. An easy walk of about a mile leads us to the end of the narrow canyon which opens spectacularly to the familiar Treasury which is carved out of predominately red stone. Further down, the valley opens to even more wonders. For the hardy there is a climb to the traditional burial site of Aaron, Moses’ brother.
* In the late afternoon proceed to the shore of the Dead Sea on the Jordanian side.

On our final day in Jordan we depart from our hotel:
* We travel north of Amman to see Jerash, another of the Decapolis cities in the region.
* Mt. Nebo to see the same view that Moses had of the Promised Land.
* We enjoy a farewell dinner on our final evening together.
* The afternoon is open for leisure at our Dead Sea resort and beach.
